"Harmony is the Soul of Music." —T. Britton
Our voice is the very first instrument we use in our lives. It's familiar, personal. And when we sing together with other voices, a certain kind of magic happens beyond the familiar—something universal.
A maximum of 16 singers (age 19+) can participate Thursday evenings 7:30-9pm. There is no audition process, you don't need any experience. All you need is the desire to sing and harmonize.
In addition to having great fun singing together, it's also a chance to learn a bit about things like general healthy vocal practices, posture and breath technique. It's a truly wonderful experience to sing with others, especially in a small group...it feels great!
Contact us for more info.
Guitar Club (ages 8 to 10)
Young Songwriters Comprehensive
Online & in-person. Tuesday evenings, 38 weeksT
Ages 12-14u
Songwriting is one of the most exciting and expressive ways of applying what you're learning on your instrument. There's no greater reward than putting words, melodies and harmonies together in a way that's unique to you.
That's exactly what the young musicians in our Young Songwriters Comprehensive Program get to do. In this small group setting, students receive guidance and support to get in touch with and develop their own "voice," and learn how to apply it to the process of songwriting.

Community Building: In addition, YSC students make new friends and establish key musical peers in this special small group setting. The program advocates for the pursuit of each participant's personal music goals, while guiding students to give creative support for each other and the group as a whole. We've seen close friendships and bands emerge from this program.

Pre-requisites:
Eligible students have completed at least one year of training on their instrument of choice.
Students must be currently enrolled in private instruction in order to be eligible to enrol in the Young Songwriters program.
For more details, please contact the studio.

Music Theory Bootcamp (adults)
Four-Note Chord Voicings
ONLINE. Mondays 7pm-8pm starting September 2023
60 minutes weekly, 12 weeks. Limited space. (adults 19+).
You're looking to expand your chord vocabulary, but where to start...

It’s important to remember that it’s not enough to just learn the chord shapes, you must also put these chords into context. When you study how they are commonly grouped together, then you can begin to develop strategies for negotiating your way through all the standard chord progressions.
The good news is that there aren’t as many different combinations as it may initially seem.
Also there are multiple song examples for any chord progression combination. In this course we will play through standard song examples with the chord diagrams clearly written in on your chart. This provides your context, all your favourite songs from the Great American Songbook..
You'll learn a new chord type or concept each week while also building on all the recent additions to your chord vocabulary. And ofcourse, you'll meet musicians and form your own jam groups outside of the classes. Let's get started!
